Travels
I
love to travel. I have taken several
car-camping, canoeing, backpacking, or bicycling jaunts on which
I always take a microcassette recorder,a notebook, and a camera
so I can construct accounts of these trips. Until recently,
I generally took slides with my Canon Rebel 2000 with a long
and short zoom, but in December 2001 I got an Olympus C-2100
digital camera with the SLR equivalent of a 38-380 mm optical
zoom. Here are a few trips I've written up:
- The
Great Southwest1998
trip to Texas (including an article on dinosaur footprints),
New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. Many images in
thumbnails and blow-ups.
- Backpacking
the High WindsA
trip I took with my UW-Eau Claire colleagues Richard Bell
and Tom Browne in 1991 to the Wind River Range of Wyoming.
Narrative with 8 photos.
- Up
the
River
and Back, or, Ten Crazies Afloat, being A Tale of
a Week on a HouseboatYeah,
well, this is just what it says, and before word processing
and laser printers and all that. Vintage 1978 on the upper
Mississippi River.
