Oakland Diary
These are vignettes that began as email accounts I sent "to the folks back home" during the summer of 2000 while I was living in a room in north Oakland I rented from a UC-Berkeley first-year law student for June and July. I was looking for—and found—a job as a technical writer. The earliest of the accounts below reflect my adventures during that summer.
When I moved to the Oakland in late August 2000, I continued to write narratives of my observations and adventures and send them out as emails. I have posted several of these as well.
