Canyonfire: SEALS Training

I've been volunteering at the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association (FMSA) since June 2002, primarily working on slides and data for the Beach Watch program but also doing a little editing for the SEALS program. I was privileged to be able to take the month-long training for the SEALS program in February 2003, consisting of classroom lectures and several field trips. Most of the classroom work was in the headquarters of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS) in the old Coast Guard building in the Presidio at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. FMSA has its offices on the 2nd floor of the GFNMS building. More about the SEALS program as we go along.
